Skiftlings are enigmatic, harmless shapeshifters that inhabit the forests and gardens of Eldrahn. It is said that keeping one in your garden brings good luck. Skiftlings, in their natural form, they are like a bipedal cephalopod, child-like in size, and able to shift their shapes and colors to grow to around 9 feet tall at will. Their large, adorable red eyes seem like puppies' eyes that are begging. Oblong horizontal slits adorn the bulbous eyes, giving the creature the look of a highly intelligent, if affable, octopus that walks on enlarged tentacles at the bottom of its body. By adjusting its tentacles into various forms and altering the pigmentation of its skin, Skiftlings can perfectly mimic plants and small animals apart from their distinct horizontal eyes. Ambush predators by nature, they are of no danger to the common adventurer or sentient races. Their diet is comprised of small fauna in the woods, and they are known to nest near nodes of the vast networks of sentient mycelium that connect the trees of the Svarta-Vidhr to each other.
In the cosmic tapestry of interdimensional tales, Outlanders are not exclusive to Earth; indeed, they hail from an array of worlds and realities beyond. Through ethereal rifts or arcane gateways, these wanderers tread paths less known, each step a sojourn from their native lands—be it Earth, distant planets, or planes of existence alien to our collective understanding. The lore of Outlanders is rich with diversity, their origins as vast and varied as the stars in the night sky, threaded together by the common thread of venturing into unknown territories, whether driven by curiosity, fate, or necessity.
